Our family drove from Oklahoma to San Diego 2 weeks ago, and the border patrol definitely was making their presence felt. We went through about six check points in all coming and going. Strange thing was, each time the agent just looked in my window and asked, "Everyone US citizens?" We said yes each time, and then were allowed to go on our way. If we had looked non-Anglo or talked with an accent, would they have asked for IDs? I don't know. Seems profiling must be one of their main strategies to catch bad guys. Not sure how that is working for them....
